Want more....

On a recent grocery shopping trip, I picked up a small container of fresh pineapple. I've always loved the stuff, but it's rather expensive, so I refrain most of the time. But this time, I let Matthew pick whatever fresh fruit he wanted, tossed in some bananas for the little kids, and I got myself a treat as well. I ate most of it on the drive home, but there was a bit left, and when I opened it up at home, two little mouths suddently appeared at my side to try it. Figuring that it would be too bitter for them, I let both Jonathan and Annah taste a piece. And wouldn't you know it, they begged for more.

So, my sweet treat became their own, and I ate a banana. But today, I went back to the grocery store and bought them each a small container of pineapple, and for dessert tonight, they each emptied the bowl. Annah had her fill, but Jonathan wanted more, so he dug into the bowl I'd gotten for myself. When I told him to stop, he became frustrated, and gave me his pouty look, and said, "I want more apple pie!"

Apple pie? Pie...pine...apple pine...pineapple! Gotcha. And because it gave me such a laugh, he got to eat more!
