Happy Birthday Dear Jonathan....

Jonathan's party this year was almost a bust. We had it planned for a Saturday afternoon, which always works well for birthday parties, but this particular Saturday was horrible. The was dark, rainy, windy, and there were actually tornado warnings out for our area. People kept calling and cancelling on coming to the party, and I was getting very upset for Jonathan. I said that we'd have a party if it was just us, but it worked out that we didn't have to do that. Right before the party was supposed to start, the rain stopped, the clouds parted, and the sun actually started shining. We were able to wipe down the slides and play equipment at Burger King and let the kids have a blast.

Jonathan's teacher, Mr. Johnson, made his cake. Early on in the school year, she noticed his slight interest (yeah, right!) in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and asked if she could do his cake, so it's been part of the plan all school year. And it turned out great! She did keep asking him which turtle was his favorite, because it tends to change at random, but as of late Friday afternoon before his party, Michaelangelo was his favorite, so the orange turtle it was!

Several of his school friends showed up, and I was really happy for him. He was completely thrilled, and managed to really rack up in the gift department!

Mrs. Johnson and I had a big laugh when he opened her present. You can see that it's the exact same shirt that he wore to his party - which was MY gift to him that morning!

Uncle Eric and family gave him the movie Star Wars the Clone Wars, and he was on top of the world. I can't even begin to guess how many times he's watched it since the party!

And what is a party without some yummy food? Burger King chicken tender "crowns" were perfect for the birthday boy! Even Annah enjoyed her burger...which doesn't happen often!

Grandmas was able to get a picture of Matthew and Uncle Eric, and I had to jump in between them....

For his big gift from us, Jonathan got Madagascar 2 and Kung Fu Panda for the Wii, and the mini movie Secrets of the Furious Five, which goes along with the Kung Fu Panda movie. Jonathan's been wanting it since he first saw it months ago, but it only came with the Kung Fu Panda movie, which we already had. Luckily, I found it on ebay by itself!

All in all, it's was a great party celebration. Happy Birthday to my favorite five year old! Love you J-man!

I'm so glad everything turned out well for his party! It looks like he had so much fun.
