River walking

Milledgeville has a brand new park area. It's called the Riverwalk. It's really nice; located in downtown Milledgeville, it runs underneath the river bridge and along the bank of the river a ways. It has paved walking/riding paths, trash cans and pet clean up areas, picnic tables, and a family friendly environment. It's a far cry from the crime zone that it once was. Geez, I sound like a commercial!

Anyway, we took advantage of the nice weather after church on Sunday; we packed a picnic of leftover fried chicken, chips, sodas, and granola bars, and headed down there after church services were over. We even took the little kids' tricycles. They had a grand time riding around the parking lot and down the trails, stopping to look at the river occasionally. It was nice to have a safe place to let them ride; I think it might be time to invest in a bike carrier for the van so that we can get OUR bikes down there for some fun rides!

Anyway, here are a few pictures:

We really had fun. Hopefully we'll be able to get back down there soon and walk the entire trail!

"Distance is not for the fearful, but for the bold. It's for those who are willing to spend a lot of time alone in exchange for a little time with the one they love. It's for those knowing a good thing when they see it, even if they don't see it nearly enough."
